- 1975 3 weeks tour with 4-wheel drive buses exploring the interior of Iceland with mountain roads (e.g. Sprengisandur route, the route to Herðubreið and Askja (staying overnight at the crater) and Landmannalaugar.
- 2004 3 weeks tour with 4-wheel drive jeep together with the family. We made a round trip but covered also the interior of Iceland, e.g. the Sprengisandur and Kjölur routes, Þórsmörk and Landmannalauagar. This is described in Iceland 2004.
We are fascinated of the Icelandic rough landscape with volcanism.
We have wanted to go back, and in September we made a round trip around Iceland. We decided to skip the mountain roads, in the end of the season, avoiding possible risks. We instead included the Snæfellsnes peninsula and combined the trip with geocaching. Many geocaches are also located at nice spots in Iceland. We have seen many of the nice spots before, but it is worth seeing them again.

- Reykjavík with surroundings
- The golden circle (Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss)
- North to the Snæfellsnes peninsula including Snæfellsjökull and Kirkjufoss
- The road to Akureyri, stopping at Búðardalur and Borgarvirki
- Goðafoss and Lake Mývatn with interesting surroundings
- Dettifoss, Selfoss and Ásbyrgi canyon
- Road 1 to Jökulsárlón, Skaftafell and Svártifoss
- Skeidararsandur, Kirkjubæjarklaustur Skógafoss and Dyrhólaey
- Seljalandsfoss, Gljúfurárfoss, Urriðafoss and Kerið crater
- Reykjavík and the Reykjanes peninsula
